We arrived at the bus station at 6pm awaiting our 7pm bus to Salta, the journey should take about 12 hours..half 8 arrives and our bus finally shows up. It all went great until 5am when the bus broke down, we had to wait for 3 hours for another bus, this would have been fine only for Mr 5am in the morning chatterbox behind me, Noisy Kid #1, 2 & 3 and my favourite of all the child that moaned continuously for 2 hours straight only briefly stopping for air. Well at least there was enough leg room to swing a cat.
We arrived at 3pm, (7 hours later then we should have) at our guesthouse (Hostal la Salta)which was one of the nicest rooms I've stayed in in South America. At this stage it was going to be a day of relaxation.
Later that evening we headed out for an Asada or BBQ as we otherwise know it, it was more of a mixed grill with enough food to feed a family of 4, they wrapped up what we couldn't finish (which was alot) and gave it to us to takeaway. Well, I'm a meatatarian, it's a personal choice!!!
