Today we stood in Che's bedroom, living room, bathroom and kitchen of his childhood home. Although he was born in Rosario, his family moved to Alta Garcia when he was young due to his bad asthma. The street is nice although it does have an eerie feel to it.
The house has been turned into a museum and houses alot of popular 'che' artefacts such as his bicycle he rigged up with a motor and the motorbike he travelled around South America.
The museum itself has some patchy bits of history, lots of bits missing but google should help fill in the blanks. Although he held multiple ministerial roles in Cuba, he resigned and went to fight in the Congo and Bolivia where he met his untimely end, he was executed and buried at the side of the road in Bolivia, his remains have been since moved to Santa Clara, Cuba.
It's definitely worth the hour bus journey out to it..outside a sculpture of a foundation is there to represent Che's unbreakable strength. There's a few pictures of Castro who visited the museum in 2006.
So tomorrow it's another overnight bus to Salta....I'll have to tally up how much transportation I've travelled on, it must be well into the hundreds by now!
