We awoke this morning somewhat relieved we didn't have to do the trek to another town for an ATM and also get on another bus today. We took a walk in towards the town and walked down a random road for a few kilometres and had a look at the 'city slicker' locals, judging by the dates wrote on their ESB meters they only got electricity February this year! The local people are so nice, the most friendly in South East Asia we've met.
We arrived back in town and took a walk through the markets, lots of fresh food and some food rats as well, although we didn't see any. We made our way back across the dodgy bridge and took a walk down through the village, after which we turned around and headed back towards our guest house for a Beer Lao, probably the best beer in the world!...We went for dinner at the guest house again this evening, it wasn't as busy as the night before but the food was as good if not better then the night before and the Lao Lao rice whisky just kept coming! We played a game of cards called "shithead" (probably named after the creator) that had more rules then an Irish secondary school..not a good idea when the rice whisky is thrown into the mix! Once again the staff here are amazing, so friendly, a perfect introduction to Laos..Tomorrow we hit Oudomaxi, home of the best Abbreviation in any language ATM!
