Our guesthouse was able to sort out a bike rental that didn't involve parting with our passports. We cycled to Wat Xieng Thong and we met the French couple who'd bailed us out at the border. We had a walk round the temple together and they headed the opposite way to us. We went along the Mekong up towards the town and stopped at another temple which I'm not to sure of the name. We headed on to Phou Si Temple which was 348 steps to the top, some bigger then others, up there is a marvellous view of the Mekong, Nam Khan and surrounding area, the sellers have flowers and little sparrows in bamboo cages which they sell to people to release, very cruel!
We headed to Tamarind, which served authentic Laos food, one of the nicest tasting lunches I've had in Asia, albeit that bit more expensive. We headed to another temple and headed along the Mekong and went towards the Nam Khan bridge before we headed back to the guesthouse to return the bikes.
