Kayaking Abel Tasman - Kahu Kayaks

We made our way to the town of Marahau, and to our booking with Kahu Kayaks [www.kahukayaks.co.nz]. We made our was around fisherman's island with our brilliant guides Andy and Kristin, we saw a few fur seal pups along the way but they seemed more interested in getting a tan then saying hello to us. We hit a few rocks on our travels but thankfully we didn't end up like the titanic!

Once on the other side of the island (and after a face full of sea water) we had the breeze to our back, but it was still no picnic home, except for the picnic we had on fisherman's island :)...It's definitely hard work but I'd do it again tomorrow, Andy told us we 'd done 16kms today so we were well impressed with ourselves. If your going to do this Kahu Kayaks are the way to go.

We made our way to Franz Josef but as this was a couple of hours away we stopped in Reefton as a resting point.
