Franz Josef Glacier Walk

"So what did you do today?" , I walked in a Glacier! Not your standard answer but today we battled through the tough terrain and made it up one (some of the way) of the fastest moving glaciers in the world at a pace of 4 - 7 metres per day! One word for this giant piece of ice is spectacular, it really is a surreal experience when you are up there in the thick of it. Definitely not one for the faint hearted but it you are semi-fit there should be no problem conquering this beast. We were told it takes 2 days by experienced climbers to climb the full Glacier, some have tried to do it in 1 and have had to use the Glacier as a sleeping bag!
