Yangshuo - Guilin - Beijing

18th January 2011

Well it's goodbye to Yangshuo and a disappointed guesthouse owner left behind when he saw us checkout this morning, Beijing is colder then here but were told everywhere will have heating :)..Things haven't gone to plan so far but a little bit of shifting here and there and were now back on track.

Today is not a terribly interesting day, we caught a bus to Guilin and enroute to the airport shuttle bus a Taxi man said he'd take us for the same price as he had a pickup there...sweet!The airport is pretty nice and we got there 3 hours before the flight. The food in the airport is pretty expensive and didn't look the best, but they've boiling water stations everywhere and all the newsagents sell instant noodles which tasted better then anything I've got back home. Interestingly enough the airport provide socket stations or "Mobilephone electrizing" for people who are short on juice.

We flew Airchina, and they were A1, plane was spick and span and we got a free sambo and juice! The flight took 3 hours and we got a taxi to our accommodation...the grumpiest man in the world and a loon behind the wheel..at one stage the light turned red and he thought he would make it by speeding up and had to hardbrake and locked the wheels of the car....lunatic!

We arrived at our "hostel" we booked on the internet, the place is a proper hotel with excellent lobby and room..we are most happy!
