Thai Cookery School Chiang Mai - Siam Rice Cookery School

We were picked up at 9am and met our other classmates, 2 Dutch lads and their parents who loved Ireland. We headed to the local market and they showed us the key ingredients to the dishes, they picked up the bits they needed and we headed to school.

The class itself was A1, the staff were brilliant and there was a general good vibe from the place. We got to pick 8 courses from a menu that we wanted to cook, I wouldn't dabble into them all but we made spring rolls from scratch and green curry paste - things I will never be buying from a packet again! He showed us how to fire cook (don't try this at home kids!).

I'm glad we didn't eat breakfast because I was stuffed, I had to leave some of my delicious green curry behind :( . They offered to pack it up for us but we've no where to reheat it so it was pointless. The chilli count for me today is between 60-70! Needless to say I'll be putting the toilet roll in the fridge tonight.

Our group was sound, the 2 Dutch lads were a laugh and their Dad done some ghost trick with a teatowel and a spoon which had the Thai's in stitches. We did some vegetable which was very difficult but Tina was top of the class, mine wasn't too bad an effort either.

I'd highly recommend this place. I'd pay good money to eat what I cooked myself in a restaurant! At 900bath this is a steal.Nancy and the staff are just smiles 24/7. Their address is: http://www.siamricethaicookery.com/

We headed to the night market, it was bonkers you couldn't move down the street,I bought some shirts and silk elephant boxer shorts, not sure if it's real but I needed underwear and they were a dollar each! Tomorrow it's tiger time...lets hope he's eaten before we arrive.
