Whitsundays

3 Days 2 Nights sailing some of the 74 Whitsunday islands on a retired maxi, the boat (Apollo III) was OK but it did need abit of TLC , the crew however needed alot more then the boat...so armed with some goon boxes we left nice and early and sailed to out first location and done abit of snorkeling, the water is so clear you can see absolutely everything down there, reef, schools of exotic fish just run through your face.

We were given 2 free dives with the sailing trip, reluctant at first after my previous experience, I decided to jump back on the horse and give it a bash, so myself and Tina went down and the dive is out of this world, it really is the best place in the world to do a dive so much going on down there, luckily no sharks were present! I loved the first dive so much I decided to do another dive on the second day, we were feeding the fish (squeezing bread from a plastic bottle) and this giant fish (can't remember what it's called) named elvis came over to us, he was about 1.5 metres and very friendly.

After the dive we went to Whitehaven Beach which is one of the top 10 beaches in the world. I done the walk up to the lookout and the pace was full of lizards and one big ass Guana. We done abit of snorkelling here but there wasn't much to see.

At dinner that night there was 'shark like' fish called Giant Torrelli's surrounding the boat if you threw in a bit of steak they'd come and fight over it, it was great to watch them.

Last day abit of snorkelling at blue pearl bay, loads of fish to see here and amazing reef, but sadly no turtles.
