What a charming little place Hoi An, unfortunately the banks of the river burst last night and a fair bit of the city has received the Venice look.
We walked through the markets and picked up a few small bits, 100% silk ties can be gotten for next to nothing here, we went through the old town and checked out a few buildings, but were going to see the whole lot tomorrow. A few enterprising locals are selling boat rides down the main street.
We went back to the tailor at 4pm and checked the fitting, my shirts and trousers are perfect but my jacket and suit jacket need to be let out a little, I was so impressed with the finish I ordered another suit (Italian Cashmere) with 2 trousers and 2 more shirts. We didn't choose this tailor lightly on reading reviews on the internet, we had to filter through the billion fake reviews that people write, and we also wanted to avoid the 'tourist trap' tailors that charge double what the honest guys charge. Our tailor: Tuong Lai Future - 586 Cua Dai St (200 metres from Post Office) ticked all the boxes excellent REAL reviews and a bit off the beaten track, we got 100% undivided attention. I haven't got the finished article as of yet, but I'll post some pictures on my next fitting.
Right now it's 7pm, time for dinner and a Larue Beer......I could get used to this :)
