Surf Weekend - Seal Rocks

Myself and Paddy hit seals rocks for a bit of surfing this weekend. We got it for practically nothing so it was definitely something to mark off the list! A bus load of people from all sides of the world hit the waves. We hit the road on the Friday night and had a few drinks and banter on the bus (and more upon arrival)

First day wasn't too bad, the beginner boards are very heavy especially after coming out of the water, I did manage to stand up on the board a couple of times for a very brief time! It was a warm day and we had a couple of whale sightings in the distance..

Halloween night we hit the booze stiff after surfing around 6ish, I went as a cowboy, It was a good fun night but we were soon to regret the over indulgence!

Second day 7am we were up, suited and booted by 8:30 and on the hunt for the waves, stiff and hungover we weren't really feeling the surf vibe but I went in for a while, It was a VERY warm day (30 degrees) so alot of us ended up chilling on the beach..

....Stiff after the 2 days surfing, I pondered how people managed the 5 day camp!!

Going Home....in the rain :(

I had a touch of Irish driving on the way home as you can see.

No Swimming!

Good luck trying!! Maybe Tom Thumb lives in the area!

The Entrance

On the road home we decided to take a look at 'The Entrance' as we were told it was a nice place. It's about 70km's from Sydney we ventured off the motorway and took the scenic route to The Entrance.

We watched the pelican feeding at the waterfront. The pelicans didn't seem to be fans of bread.

Port Macquarie Day Trip

We took a spin up the coast to Port Macquarie on saturday, it's an hour or so trip up the coast but it's a really nice spot.

We decided to go on a Whale 'cruise'. Cruise not being very accurate we went out on this speed boat dingey, which was pretty fun, we saw 2 whales but they were very shy when we went out to them and couldn't get many snaps of them and unfortunately no jumps out of the water either.

Forster - Bank Holiday Weekend

We decided to take a drive up to Forster (prenounced "Foster"!). It's about 350 Km'from Sydney.
We stayed in Jasmine Lodge Motel and had a lovely couple (Don & Sylvia) look after us, Sylvia was from Tyrone and they were both very helpful, especially the owner mailing back a shirt I left behind.

I suppose you could describe Forster as the Howth of New South Wales, we certainly had the Irish weather with us all weekend unfortunately but that surely did stop our excursions to the local pubs and restaurants.
